To save a graph to a disk file, choose ‘Save As...’ You will be prompted for a name for the file. The default for this is the function expression if you defined it yourself, or the preset name of the function if it was a predefined one. The information saved will allow the graph to be fully reconstructed exactly as it was when you saved it. The files are very small because they do not contain any image data.
If you wish to just save the graph as an image, for example to later open it with a drawing editor or import it into another document, choose ‘Save PICT as...’ instead. The graph image will be saved as a PICT image, which can be read by all Macintosh applications that are graphics aware. This type of file cannot be later opened by Graphplot itself however.
To open an existing graph file choose ‘Open...’ and pick the file you require from the standard file dialog box. The file will open a new window and the graph will be plotted from the data in the file.
Graphplot supports drag-and-drop file opening from the Finder‚Ñ¢, if you prefer this method. Just drag a Graphplot file on top of the application icon and it will be opened and displayed.
